Who we are
Founded in 1980, the Society of Latino Engineers and Scientists (SOLES) is a dual student chapter of MAES (Latinos in Engineering and Science) and SHPE. (Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers) is a recognized student organization associated with the Charles W. Davidson College of Engineering at San Jose State University. As of Fall 2023, over 130 SOLES members are dedicated to social, professional, and academic development as well as community outreach.

What we do
SOLES members are in direct exposure to opportunities for academic development and professional development through tutoring sessions from industry, development workshops, national conferences from MAES and SHPE, and industry exposure through company tours.
