San Jose State University hosts MAES National for Leadership Academy
This Fall, San Jose State University had the opportunity to host the MAES Leadership Academy from September 28th to September 30th. Our Science Extravaganza President, Cathy Hernandez, had the ability to utilize her experience, in STEAM outreach, to demonstrate how she plans to run a successful Science Extravaganza 25th anniversary event in the Spring. We are extremely grateful for the opportunity to host the MAES Leadership Academy and we’ll be there next year at the University of Texas El Paso.

Dr. Sheryl Ehrman, Dean of College of Engineering at San Jose State University, provided an amazing history of San Jose State to the MAES National Board and attendees. Students got the opportunity to learn about the programs offered at San Jose State University and how the College supports diversity, equity, and inclusion in Engineering. Science Extravaganza Info-Session
Our phenomenal Science Extravaganza (SE) co chair, Cathy Hernandez, serves as the President of SE, where she focuses on inspiring the underrepresented community in San Jose by providing outreach events aimed to spark interest in STEAM enrichment and planning for our 25th Science Extravaganza on February 11th, 2024.
